Escape for a nourishing one-day yoga retreat at Boconnoc, one of Cornwall’s most stunning and luxurious stately homes.
Time is one of the most valuable gifts that you can give yourself. This day is an opportunity to slow down and make time for yourself - away from distractions and to-do lists - for you to be fully present and to reconnect with your most authentic self. With yoga and meditation practices, journaling, walking and connecting with like-minded souls, the day will create space for reflection and rediscovery. Through this process of unravelling, there is the opportunity to discover a renewed sense of clarity and focus, inspiring you to go back out into the world and thrive.
There is no better place to retreat to than Boconnoc. Secluded and peaceful, with vast stunning scenery, the estate really is the place to go to get away from it all. Tucked down two miles of private drive, as soon as you enter Boconnoc you are transported to another world; a world of tranquillity, peace and breath-taking scenery. Ancient trees inhabit the vast corners of the estate, whilst the gardens burst with extraordinary blooms.
Boconnoc’s story begins thousands of years ago. Since the days of the Domesday Book, people have inhabited this beautiful tract of Cornwall—and the estate itself is alive with centuries of history.
Boconnoc House sits in the heart of the estate. Restored to its former glory following a 12-year restoration project by the Fortescue family, this Georgian country house is surrounded by rolling countryside and immaculate lawns. Capturing the enchantment and beauty of Cornwall, the only sounds you will hear are the birds and the trees swaying gently in the breeze.
Representing the heights of Cornish luxury, you’ll relax in style in exquisitely designed rooms. The yoga classes will be in the light and airy Garden Room and you’ll also enjoy the many fabulous reception rooms throughout the day. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the glorious estate on foot when we go for a walk after lunch.
The morning yoga practice will combine asana, pranayama and meditation to allow you to connect with your body, your breath and your mind. The afternoon practice will combine restorative yoga and guided meditation to promote complete relaxation.
Through releasing tension and creating space in the body and the mind there will be the opportunity to peel away any stresses and strains which are on the periphery to bring greater focus to what lies within. There will be journaling opportunities interwoven throughout the sessions to allow you to release thoughts and reflect on your inner landscape, creating space for you to be fully present with a renewed sense of clarity.
The yoga practice will be suitable for all levels of experience, including those newer to yoga. If you have not practiced yoga with me before, you can read more about me and my teaching style and experience here.
To complement the day’s activities, lunch will be healthy and nutritious to nourish and replenish your body. It will be a freshly prepared two-course vegetarian meal, and free from refined sugar and gluten. Any other special diets can be catered for; please advise me of any specific requirements when booking.
After lunch we’ll go for a walk in the estate to enjoy the breathtaking scenery, surrounded by the beautiful amber and golden tones as the trees and shrubs turn for the Autumn. From admiring the grazing fallow deer in the Deer Park to the centuries-old trees of the ancient woodland, exploring the grounds will feel like stepping into a timeless oil painting.
My favourite local therapists Charlotte Triggs and Lisa Allen will be coming to Boconnoc to offer a wide range of wellbeing and beauty treatments during the day. These will be available at an extra cost and you will book these in advance of the day. Please note that if you would like a treatment, the appointment will be in place of the walk or the afternoon yoga session, depending on your preference.

WHAT TO BRING
All of the yoga equipment is provided, including lululemon mats. Please bring wellies or walking boots and a coat (if you’d like to walk).
Accommodation is not included within the day retreat price, however if you would like to stay at Boconnoc in one of the cottages on a bed and breakfast basis we can arrange this for you at an additional cost. You could also bring your family or friends and make a weekend of it. Please contact me for further information.
Boconnoc is locatated close to Lostwithiel near to Bodmin. It’s well connected with travel links, no matter how you are planning to get there:
CAR: There is plenty of car parking space available on site. Directions will be provided.
TRAIN: Boconnoc is just a 10-15 minute drive from Liskeard train station, which is on the direct line from London Paddington. If you're travelling from West Cornwall then Lostwithiel is the closest train station. Transfers from and back to the train station can be organised at extra cost.
FLY: Boconnoc is just a 40 minute drive from Newquay airport. There are frequent direct flights to Newquay airport from London Heathrow with Flybe. Transfers from and back to the airport can be organised at extra cost.
